Bird Nest
Step One: Cover canvas with thin coat of acrylic gesso.
Step Two: Place directional hatch strokes to shape nest with Yellow Ochre. Nest is oval shaped.
Step Three: Add strokes of Burnt Sienna following directional strokes already placed. These strokes are the spaces between the sticks. They can be larger than the Yellow Ochre strokes.
Step Four: Block in three eggs with Cobalt Blue and Titanium White. Only part of the front two eggs shows at front of nest.
Step Five: Add small amount of Mars Black to Burnt Sienna. Use hatch marks to place deep shadows which are the deepest recesses of the nest.
Step Six: Fill in background with mixture of Cobalt Blue and Unbleached Titanium.
Step Seven: Use dark shadow color to block in tree branches under nest.
